If you're like me, then every once in a great while you'll need to take a macro shot but can't afford the $$$ to buy professional equipment. So, you do your best with what you have, but end up with an image ruined by really harsh shadows.
I do a lot of videocasting, both for personal use on our family blog, and for this weblog. I use my Sony Cybershot F717 digital camera to capture most of the videos, but get frustrated because I can't hold it still enough. Spending thousands for a Steadicam rig was definitely out of the question, but for under $50 I think I've found a workable alternative. . .
For digital photography, we currently use and highly recommend the Sony Cybershot DSC-R1 digital camera. As a backup, and for those really hard to capture photos that it excels at, we also use a Cybershot DSC-F717 camera.
We use Adobe Photoshop Elements to process, crop, and edit our photos, and also use a few other digital photography applications that we post about from time to time.
