Photoshop - Creating Abstract Images from Photos
Some experiments manipulating photos using Photoshop Elements
All of the following images were created in Photoshop Elements from photographs. The basic process I used was:
- crop the original image and adjust levels
- create a series of three layers using the adjusted image
- apply a pallette knife filter to one layer, then drastically increase the saturation and apply a Gaussian blur
- apply a dry brush filter to another layer
- use a third layer to create the line/sketch effect by applying a smart blur (edges only) then inverting it. To get a stronger sketch effect I applied a poster edge effect
- adjust each layer so that they blend using the soft light setting
- season to taste....
