Thom, who is a dyed-in-the-wool Nikon fanatic posted an excellent, and extremely detailed, comparision of the Coolpix, PowerShot, and Lumix offerings. The bottom line? “… the G10 delivers more of what we serious shooters want…”
When I bought the new Canon Powershot G10 of course I also bought a spare battery (hate running out of juice right in the middle of a shoot), a remote trigger, and some extra memory cards. But, that wasn’t enough…
The Canon Powershot G10 is really amazing. The performance is outstanding, the image quality is great, and the camera is surprisingly easy to handle and pocketable.
These shots were taken hand-held while I was also holding on to the leashes of my two dogs.
The weather suddenly decided it was Spring, so we jumped at the chance to do a little exploring. In a remote location, way out of the way for most people, we enjoyed a late lunch at 150 year old farm house that had been converted into a fantastic restaurant.
For digital photography, we currently use and highly recommend the Sony Cybershot DSC-R1 digital camera. As a backup, and for those really hard to capture photos that it excels at, we also use a Cybershot DSC-F717 camera.
We use Adobe Photoshop Elements to process, crop, and edit our photos, and also use a few other digital photography applications that we post about from time to time.
