Bookworm - English Vocabulary Game

bookworm.jpgMany of my non-native English speaking friends ask me about ways to build their vocabulary and become more comfortable with English words. So, I'm always on the lookout for things to help them. One interesting 'tool' that I came across is a simple game called 'Bookworm.' You build words from the letters on the screen. They have to be at least 3 letters, but the longer the better. When you form a word you get points, and the letters disolve allowing new letters to be added. There's no time limit, so you can take your time. Of course there are some challenges, like red letters that you have to use before they reach the bottom of the screen.

Oh, did I mention that it's free? You can play it online via the US Yahoo site. Use the link below, or look under Yahoo Games for Bookworm. They also offer a download version that you can play offline - but there's a small charge for that program.

One word of warning - it's addictive!
