I happen to love puns and word play. It's one of my weaknesses. So, I'm always on the lookout for a good joke involving puns. Here's one that was sent to me this morning. It's an 8 out of 10 on the Pun Groan-o-meter:

Costco Fever

I've always been skeptical about Costco in Japan. When I was living in California I would visit Costco occasionally - usually during my lunch break to wolf down a cheap hot dog and large soda.
When Costco came to Japan they built a huge store close to where I live and work, so we signed up for a members card.

Sunday, September 11th, is the election, and according to Japanese law, all political activity has to stop by 8:00 pm the night before. So, all the politicians were out trying to influence people and gather votes right up to the last minute. The LDP sponsored a rally next to Inage Kaigan train station, and because Koizumi was scheduled to appear, the turnout was absolutely huge. The number of people that came was easily in the multiple thousands.
